I asked my first “virtual question” to Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove highlighting that weeks into the Covid 19 pandemic, a large number of UK businesses have not received a reply after offering to manufacture and supply Personal Protective Equipment.

This includes “Protecting Heroes” a community interest company manufacturing plastic face shields.

Many companies had little option but to sell vital PPE equipment abroad after the UK government failed to contact them.

I asked the reasons for the delay in processing and responding to these offers.

I also asked the Government to establish a more timely and efficient system.
