The Palace of Westminster are commemorating 150 years since rebuilding work was completed on the Houses of Parliament, following the devastating fire of 1834.

A series of stamps showing iconic views of both Houses are on sale in Post Offices across the country.

Younger constituents can join in the celebrations by taking part in the Speaker’s art competition ‘My Democracy Design’.

Open to young people aged between 6 and 15, the Speaker is looking for the next great artist to design their own democracy-themed tile.

The winning design will be created into a unique democracy-themed tile. The deadline for entries is 31 August 2020, and the details can be found here.

As part of the 150 celebrations, Parliament will be running a series of online talks and online guided tours of the Palace of Westminster.

Tour guides will take constituents on a virtual tour through the Palace of Westminster, recreating the on-site experience online. The tours will run throughout August and September, and information can be found here.
