I was unable to make my full contribution, but I hope I have been able to recognise the hard work and dedications of the hospitality industry in the Easington constituency, who have spent thousands on being covid secure.

I believe any restrictions should be focused, and introduced with a comprehensive financial package where businesses are affected. The current blanket tier policy is failing our communities, and our economy.

A national lockdown was meant to get a grip on covid, but a month later, we are being pushed into more punitive restrictions.

This is the result of the government failing to dealer an effective test, track, and trace system, let alone the world-beating service the Prime Minister promised. Without a functioning test, track and trace system, we will struggle to get covid under control until a vaccine becomes widely available.
