Brass Bands main income source disappear overnight when covid put a stop to performances.

A significant loss of income over the Summer, coupled with ongoing costs for instruments and rehearsal space has left many Brass Bands on the brink of folding.

In an effort to #SaveOurBrassBands, Crowdfunder and Brass Bands England have teamed up to launch a new national campaign to save hundreds of Brass Bands struggling to survive the Covid-19 pandemic.

The campaign will be led by broadcaster and baritone player, Melanie Sykes.

Fundraising platform Crowdfunder, are hosting the campaign free of charge to all brass bands seeking to raise vital funds.

Brass Bands financially struggling due to covid can create their own Crowdfunder page, free of charge, to raise money in their communities as part of the wider national campaign.

Bands can make their free page here and add a range of unique rewards ranging from personalised Christmas performances through to delivering online lessons: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-our-brass-bands

Grahame Morris MP said “Brass Bands are part of our cultural heritage in East Durham, and across coalfield communities. Without urgent support, brass band face an uncertain future. We must ensure that our brass bands survive, that our young people have the opportunity to learn music, and our communities can enjoy the wonderful sound of brass for generations to come.”
