One year on from P&O and DP World’s sacking of 800 UK based seafarers, no action, punishment or sanction has been imposed on blatant law breaking. The P&O executive Peter Hebblethwaite told a joint Business and Transport committee there was no doubt they were required to consult with trade unions but chose not to.

In the last year, the Government have failed to any action against P&O to hold them to account for breaking the law.

In business questions I asked that Leader of the House of Commons for a debate to get answers as to why the Government have failed to protect workers against disreputable employers who knowingly break the law without consequence.
