Grahame Morris MP Working for Easington
On Monday at Home Office questions, I raised a constituent case where a vulnerable adult has been frauded out of £32,000.
I asked the minister what recourse my constituent has to recover his money from HSBC given the appropriate safeguards were not put in place.
Disappointingly, the minister did not answer my question and he did not offer any advice on how my constituent could get their money back. Unfortunately, this does not surprise me as the government has given up on governing and is not fit to run the country any longer.
Fraudsters are becoming more sophisticated, and the government should be focused on advancing efforts to prevent fraud. They must do more to ensure banks are using their sufficient resources to safeguard people from scams and work with the police to launch criminal investigations to bring about justice and end the harm it causes.
