I welcome the release of this much-anticipated report. It’s imperative that we respect the findings of an independent Ombudsman.

The DWP’s failings have adversely affected thousands of women, and they are entitled to restitution.

The Government’s handling of this matter has been deplorable, with a lack of action or even an apology for the harm inflicted on these women’s retirement prospects.

The Ombudsman’s message is unequivocal: Parliament must take decisive steps to correct this injustice and implement a compensation scheme without delay.
